SESAC has shuttered its Miami offices, Billboard has confirmed. The move comes less than two years after the company inaugurated new digs in Miami’s Brickell district.

Although SESAC’s Latin operation has long been based out of Los Angeles, the performance-rights company has had offices in Miami devoted mostly to Latin music and writers for nearly a decade.

As a result of the closure, SESAC Miami’s associate director for writer/publisher relations, Albert Ramirez III, has left the company, as well as Mayte S. Alvarez, the division’s writer/publisher relations coordinator.

However, SESAC EVP Dennis Lord says, “Our commitment to [the Latin market] is as strong as ever and we see nothing but growth. We are absolutely not shrinking. If anything, we’re going to go deeper.”

Having all Latin operations in Los Angeles, says Lord, is more practical as it will centralize SESAC’s Latin presence. On June 15, SESAC will host its annual SESAC Latin Music Awards at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles.

SESAC’s roster of Latin writers includes Nicky Jam, Robi “Draco” Rosa, Luciano Luna and Fonseca.
