Julieta Venegas Announces Algo Sucede Tour
Julieta Venegas will embark on a tour named for her 2016 Grammy-nominated album, Algo Sucede, the same week as the Feb. 15 awards show.
The singer, nominated in the Grammys' Latin Pop category, is set to start her extensive international tour in Austin on Feb. 12. After more dates in Texas, she will perform in Zurich and Barcelona before returning to the States for a succession of concerts in California in April. The tour will continue to include as yet unannounced dates on the east coast of the U.S., in Puerto Rico and in Latin America.
Venegas has maintained one of the most consistent yet understated careers since her solo debut, Aquí, more than two decades ago. A pioneer whose music and image have broken Latina stereotypes, Venegas has forged a path between Latin alternative and pop music,and supported the cresting of a strong wave of Mexican female artists.
Algo Sucede reached No. 1 on the Latin Pop Album chart.
