The Puerto Rican singer's new release, Aquila, debuts at No. 3 on the Top Latin Albums chart, and tells Billboard how "grateful" he is for the support of his fans.

Puerto Rican singer-songwriter Pedro Capo debuts at No. 3 on Top Latin Albums with his latest set Aquila. It sold nearly 2,000 copies in its opening week (ending Aug. 17), according to Nielsen SoundScan. Capo also enters Hot Latin Songs with the album’s second single “Para Ayudarte A Reir,” bowing at No. 46. The track rises eight percent at radio for the week (to 4.2 million audience impressions), according to Nielsen BDS, bumping the song 33-28 on Latin Airplay. Most plays stem from Puerto Rico, where WKAQ, San Juan tops weekly spins (79). "Para Ayudarte A Reir” is currently the theme to a running campaign for the 2015 Honda Fit in Puerto Rico, the brand’s primary commercial spot for this campaign.
 
Billboard caught up with Capo following the debut, and he says that "Aquila truly is a dream come true. It's a photograph of the last three years of my life. It’s an ode to life at its brightest, a celebration of love, hope and positivism." He adds about working with Latin Grammy Award-winning producer George Noriega: "It was an amazing experience working with George who captured all my vibe in 12 beautiful tracks."  When asked about his feelings on entering the Billboard charts the singer added, "I am very grateful for the love that listeners are giving to this album. It's a blessing to be able to connect with them and it makes be extremely happy to buzz onto the charts amongst all the great artists of this generation."

Chino & Nacho Climb: Over on Latin Airplay, Chino & Nacho climb 15-9 with “Tu Me Quemas” featuring Gente de Zona & Los Cadillacs, securing the duo’s sixth top 10 on the chart. Previously, they reached No. 5 with “Sin Ti” in June, 2013. On Hot Latin Songs, the song steps 26-25 in its seventh week on the chart. The Venezuelan group opened Univision’s youth awards, Premios Juventud, with a performance of “Tu Me Quemas” on July 17.
 
J Alvarez's 'Temperatura' Rises: J Alvarez scores his sixth top 20 on Latin Rhythm Airplay as “La Temperatura” skips 23-19, posting a 67 percent rise at the format. The track lands Hot Shot Debut honors on Tropical Airplay where it opens at No. 31, logging 149 spins. The reggaeton artist recently announced that a music video for “Temperatura” was filmed in Miami and will be out soon on his official VEVO channel.
 
Don Omar Returns: Don Omar grabs the Hot Shot Debut on Hot Latin Songs as latest single “Guaya Guaya” opens at No. 37. The track, first single off of upcoming album The Last Don ll, moved over 2,000 digital downloads in its first week commercially available. Also on Hot Latin Songs, Omar’s “Pura Vida” dips 42-48 in its 15th week, where it had previously peaked at No. 15 on July 5.
