Italian diva Laura Pausini looks luminous and elegant during a promotional visit to Miami. The elegance is courtesy of fellow Italian designer Giorgio Armani who for years outfitted the singer, and who she now has returned to for a look that’s classic and harks back to the 70s (Pausini calls Bianca Jagger an inspiration).
The luminosity is the result of love. Pausini is celebrating motherhood -- her first daughter, Paola, was born last February -- and continues her relationship with longtime boyfriend and guitarist Paolo Carta. It’s a fitting emotional place to be for Italy’s premiere female artist, who is celebrating the 20th anniversary of her first album with "20 - The Greatest Hits," a collection of new versions of her top hits, plus a handful of new tracks. Featuring collabs with pals like James Blunt, Michael Bublé, Marc Anthony, Alejandro Sanz and Kylie Minogue (on first single "Limpio"), "20" was also released in a Spanish version for Pausini’s Latin fans; the singer is as much a star throughout the Spanish-speaking world as she is back home.
In an exclusive video interview with Billboard, Pausini tells us the story behind her favorite tracks in her retrospective album.
And watch as Pausini sits down with Billboard's Leila Cobo to discuss her new album in the context of her 20-year career.
