Wisin vs. Yandel: Which Solo Single Is Best?

The popular Latin urban duo Wisin & Yandel is back on the charts, but this time with separate solo singles. As a pair, they hold the record for most No. 1s on the Latin Rhythm Airplay chart, with 14 songs reaching the top. On Latin Airplay, they have notched 10 No. 1s between 2006 and 2012. Most notably, they spent 14 weeks at the top with "Algo Me Gusta De Ti" featuring Chris Brown & T-Pain in October 2012. Now, they go head to head with their singles, as both artists rev-up for their respective album releases. 

Yandel reaches his first No. 1, as a lead solo artist, on Latin Airplay this week with "Hable de Ti," following a 16 week climb. The upbeat track has held the top spot on Latin Rhythm Airplay for 10 consecutive weeks and continues to climb at radio. The music video has gained 3 million views Worldwide on YouTube/Vevo. 

Yandel's album "De Lider a Leyenda" (From Leader to Legend) will be released on Nov. 5. "It's fresh, electronic, urban and danceable" comments the artist about the forthcoming set. The album's second single "Hasta Abajo" was recently announced and is slated for an Oct. 14 release to radio. 

Entering the charts this week, Wisin's "Que Viva La Vida" comes in at No. 14 on Latin Airplay, to become his first charting solo track. The party anthem also debuts at No. 2 on Latin Rhythm Airplay, while his counterpart currently reigns at No. 1. "Que Viva" starts with 6 million radio impressions in its first week, according to Nielsen BDS, and 2,000 downloads sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan, good for a No. 8 debut on Latin Digital Songs. Wisin's album is due Dec. 3 and will include collaborations with Pitbull, Chris Brown, Ricky Martin, and Jennifer Lopez, among others. 

Yandel's "Hable de Ti" and Wisin's "Que Viva La Vida" have proved that each artist can hold their own on the charts. That said, let us know which song you prefer in our poll!
