The reigning K-Pop Hot 100 chart queen will join Girls' Generation, CNBLUE and more acts in Los Angeles
K-pop solo superstar IU is the latest act announced to perform at KCON, North America's biggest K-pop convention hitting Los Angeles in August. The performance will be the 21-year-old's first time performing stateside.
IU has more than proven herself on the Korean charts: The sweet-voiced singer currently has six No. 1s making her the K-Pop Hot 100's all-time chart leader. Her most recent No. 1 came via a cover of '80s K-pop tune "My Old Story." Watch below.
IU also recently saw love from U.S. fans when her latest full-length album, the excellent coming-of-age LP "Modern Times," hit No. 4 on the World Albums chart. The appearance will be a long-awaited treat for American supporters awaiting a visit from the singer who debuted more than five years ago.
KCON goers will also be happy to hear that tickets for the fest will be on sale by the end of the month at KCONUSA.com.
IU is the first soloist to join popular K-pop groups Girls' Generation, CNBLUE and BTS on Aug. 9 and 10. Find out more about those three acts right here and look out for more acts to be announced for what KCON promises to be their biggest lineup to date.
