Brown Eyed Soul Expresses Gratitude to Fans in 'Always Be There'
The veteran R&B quartet celebrate 10 years together with their first release in three years.
R&B quartet Brown Eyed Soul -- comprised of members Naul (who snagged a three-week K-Pop Hot 100 No. 1 with solo track "Memory of the Wind" last October), Seong Hun, Jeong Yeop, Yeong Jun -- recently celebrated their 10-year anniversary with the release of the eagerly-anticipated digital single "Always Be There." The cozy track is a welcome break from their lengthy hiatus of three years; the group last album having been released in November 2010.
"Always Be There" is an '80s-inspired, mellow-pop confection, with hints of Miguel's "Adorn" production. The heartfelt lyrics are dedicated to their longtime supportive fans. Instead of flexing their impressive vocal range to get the message across, the group uses soft, warm vocal harmonies to express their gratitude and promises that they will "always be there" for fans.
The group said in a press release that they wanted to make a track that "approaches listeners sincerely to comfort souls for a long time."
After the release of the single's teaser video on Oct. 28, which features the four members doing personal activities like skateboarding and playing basketball, the group unleashed the full music video on Oct. 31. Directed by Naul's friend and collaborator Song Won Young, the visual strays the group away from their typical music video format, featuring the members themselves for the first time.
In the dreamy visual, the members are seen in a recording studio, at home, skateboarding and playing basketball.
Starting on Dec. 20, Brown Eyed Soul will embark on a nationwide tour of South Korea called "Thank Your Soul" to commemorate the 10th anniversary
