After playing the female counterpart in PSY's inescapable "Gangnam Style" video, K-pop starlet HyunA has inadvertently become one of the most visible artists of the genre. Now she's taking front and center with her latest single, "Ice Cream," and enlisting none other than PSY for a guest appearance in the music video.
The hip-hop pop track puts a unique twist on HyunA's singing and rap delivery. Whether or not one speaks Korean, the innuendos are clear enough in the track (on which HyunA repeats "Cream! Cream! Cream! Cream!" in the chorus), while the video's different scenarios include HyunA parading through some suggestive choreography, running over a clown with her ice cream truck and seduceing a man with her name tattooed on his back. The video gets racy for K-pop standards in a scene where the 20 year-old plays around with soap suds in a cleavage-barring top. As racy as things get, the video has a whimsical introduction from the world's biggest K-pop today, PSY, sneaking into HyunA's truck for a frozen treat.
HyunA had a nice lead-in for the video, with a 30-second teaser for the video racking over 3 million views in just four days. HyunA's equally fun and sexy solo single "Bubble Pop!" earned 37 million views since 2011. The singer is also a part of five-member girl group 4Minute, who hit 12 million views for their lesbian-vampire romp "Volume Up."
