Throughout the week there has been speculation regarding a new album from Donald Glover, a.k.a. Childish Gambino. On Wednesday (Nov. 9), Glover confirmed the rumors to be true by tweeting out the album cover and title, ...Awaken, My Love!

Today, not only did Zane Lowe confirm the album is due out Dec. 2, he also premiered its first song, "Me and Your Mama." Lowe then proceeded to spin the six-minute, genre-spanning and aggressively emotive track a record-breaking six times. The song veers down a handful of different sonic terrains, resulting in a blissful blend that sets a high bar for the rest of the album.

"I just needed this right now, Donald," Lowe said on air. "It sounds like now. It sounds like this year. So deep." He then added how the song represents "a whole other movement for this guy."

Give it a listen below.

Aside from returning to music -- the upcoming album is Glover's first since his 2014 mixtape STN MTN -- his highly acclaimed show Atlanta has been renewed for a second season. He will also star in the 2018 Star Wars film as a young Lando Calrissian.
