Cam'ron Drops 'Oh Yeah' Video With Juelz Santana, Announces New Album 'Killa Season 2'
It's been seven years since Dipset leader Cam'ron released a solo album, 2009's Crime Pays. But now Killa Cam is back with the video for his latest collaboration with Juelz Santana, "Oh Yeah," and the news that Killa Season 2, the sequel to his 2006 LP, will be out this fall.
The video for the Trigga T-produced cut sees Cam and Juelz decked out in garb straight out of the Diplomats' heyday, with the group's trademark Eagle logo and Santana's signature bandana on full display as the duo drop some typically-quotable bars. (Notably absent is Jim Jones, who called Cam out on Instagram in June for allegedly removing Jones' verse from the track, thwarting a potential Diplomats reunion.)
For Cam, announcing Killa Season 2 means he's putting his much-discussed Purple Haze 2 -- and the retirement it promised -- on the shelf for now, with a rep for the Harlem native saying Cam has been "reinvigorated" since getting back in the studio. In late 2014, Cam'ron initially said he'd be retiring following the release of PH2, which would itself have been a sequel to his 2004 original. That album had been teased by the single "U Wasn't There," released this January. But that timeline has been pushed back.
And while KS2 will be his first solo full-length since 2009, Cam hasn't been idle on the music front. He teased a collaborative project with A-Trak, called Federal Reserve, which never materialized, but he held down the second half of 2014 with a six-part EP series called 1st of the Month, as well as a handful of singles and a mixtape in 2013. Cam'ron is currently out on the road with The Underachievers, G Herbo, Smoke DZA and Nyck Caution for the Smokers Club Tour, which is scheduled to wrap this Thursday (July 14) in Norfolk, Va.
