Hip-hop veteran Redman and rising trap and bass producer Jayceeoh have joined forces to create the electrifying new duo, 1000volts. After a random encounter in Croatia, they discovered that their musical visions aligned, even tag teaming on the 2015 trap track "Turn Me Up Some" also featuring DJ Jay Psar

The New Jersey multi-hyphenate, who's no stranger to collaborations with Christina Aguilera to Wu-Tang Clan, says he's tapping into a different side of his talents. "The 1000volts project is a new experience for me working with Jayceeoh! I'm an artist, not a rapper... so my musical genres and library is way beyond the normal rapper," says Redman in a statement sent to Billboard. "I'm always ready to venture into new music. 1000volts will show the hunger and the love of us trying something different. I know that Jayceeoh and I are very well researched and both have the experience to make this shit happen. I'm looking forward to it!"

Beatsmith Jayceeoh, who grew up on the stoner cult classic How High starring Redman, adds that teaming with him is a dream come true. "1000volts is a dream project for me," he also tells Billboard. "If you told me 10 years ago that I'd have a group with the legendary Redman, I would've never believed you. It's an honor and an incredible experience to work with him in this capacity. I started DJing as a hip-hop head and Redman has always been one of my favorite artists."

Beyond lighting up tracks as 1000volts, Redman and Jayceeoh are also keeping busy with individual projects. Red is crafting the sequel to his 1996 album Muddy Waters and the follow-up to How High while Jayceeoh, fresh off the festival circuit, has locked in a residency at Las Vegas hot spot The Light after releasing Soundcloud magnets like the official remix for Mac Miller's "Jump" and his most recent original cut "Jumanji" with BARE.

1000volts plans to take their act on the road, too. "As you guys know, my stage shows are apeshit bananas so you can imagine what it will be like with this electronic music and with Jayceeoh on the wheels!," offers Red. "It's all good energy!"

For their first formal introduction, 1000volts grabs Houston rhymer Trae Tha Truth for "I'm Gone." Turn up with their official offering below.
