The 22-year-old Australian rose to prominence via a series of viral videos showcasing his formidable skills with Novation's Launchpad MIDI controller. His YouTube channel attracted the attention of more than 35 million viewers, as well as Sony Music Entertainment and Ultra Music, which signed the artist to a multi-record deal in February. Known mostly for his mashups to date, the artist will at last unveil his original productions on his 4-track M4 EP, available August 19 through Ultra Music.
“The connection between music production and the live performance aspect of electronic music is really important to me," he says.

M4SONIC says he hopes to inspire other artists to ditch conventional DJ gear and explore the possibilities offered by new technology.
"I feel that in the world of EDM we are accustomed to a standardized performance on CDJ’s," he says. "But artists like Disclosure, The Glitch Mob, Above & Beyond and Zedd are incorporating live instrumental elements to their shows and I think that this is the ‘right’ direction for electronic music.”
