Last December, Swedish House Mafia’s Steve Angello booked the entire Boom Boom Room Studio in Los Angeles for a month to set up a writing camp for himself and an assortment of artists signed to his Size Records. Among those artists was Max Vangeli, whose new track “Last Night Changed It All” sounds every bit the monster one would expect from a producer mentored by Angello. While the concept of a writing camp -- a days or weeks-long session where musicians explore ideas and create and record songs -- is common practice in pop music, Size is the first dance label to explore the idea in a major way. Size will celebrate its 10-year anniversary at a showcase in Miami later this month, appropriately called “#DECADE,” where Vangeli will perform with usual partner in crime An21 along with Third Party and Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano. O course, the bossman himself Steve Angello will rock as well.
"This is a very special record to me because it is something I have worked on for a while now,” Vangeli says of “Last Night.” “I tried to make everything special around the release, and not just put something out that sounds or feels like everything else. I wanted to have that spark."
“Last Night Changed It All” comes out March 31 on Size Records.
