Diverse lineup includes Diplo’s Mad Decent and Skrillex’s OWSLA
Red Bull will give wings to Miami Music Week for a second year.
The Red Bull Guest House, the energy drink’s hotel takeover/nightclub/immersive brand experience, will again take up residence on South Beach during the week that includes Ultra Music Festival (March 28-30), Billboard has learned.
From March 27-30, the Gale South Beach will be re-imagined as the hippest dormitory ever, housing artists and execs from around the globe for four days of carefully curated parties from some of dance music’s most influential labels, and other exclusive experiences. The Guest House became a Miami must-see in its very first year, hosting memorable intimate sets from artists like Skrillex and Carl Craig.
This year’s Guest House will showcase eight labels: Diplo’s Mad Decent, Skrillex’s OWSLA, Disclosure’s UK home PMR, Richie Hawtin’s M-nus, Hot Creations, the label formed by Hot Natured’s Jamie Jones and Lee Foss, DJ Solomun’s Diynamic Music, beats imprint LuckyMe and Los Angeles-based Rhonda International, the label recently formed by the promoters behind monthly party, A Club Called Rhonda.
"Following last year’s success, we're extremely excited to bring the Good Times (OWSLA’s recurring event series) back to the Red Bull Guest House,” said OWSLA's Clayton Blaha. “Stayed tuned for updates as we create an experience to top last year’s."
The Guest House experience doesn’t stop with music: The “Traktor Cookery School,” sponsored by Native Instruments’ Traktor DJ software, will offer meals prepared by a select group of foodie DJs. The brand has capitalized on the overlap among fans of gastronomic and electronic pleasures by arranging cooking demonstrations at several dance music industry events in Europe. This will be its first stateside endeavor.
Artists are expected to be announced in the coming weeks for exclusive Guest House performances, but if last year’s talent list is any indication (Jamie xx, A-Trak, Baauer, Boys Noize), it should be a significant lineup. Red Bull Music Academy Radio will also broadcast a portion of each day’s events live.
