Calvin Harris will headline The Day After Festival (TDA) at the Figali Center in Panama City (January 10-12, 2014), Billboard has learned. The marquis booking gives the year-old event and its burgeoning market added weight as an EDM destination.

Harris, the DJ/producer/singer/songwriter/richest man in EDM, joins a stacked line-up already containing Afrojack, Nervo, Nicky Romero, plus Billboard “21 Under 21” selection Martin Garrix, and Hardwell, the newly crowned No. 1 DJ in the world (according to DJ magazine’s Top 100 DJ poll).

TDA’s successful first event, held this January, featured a headlining set from David Guetta at the 10,000-capacity Figali. For 2014, local promoter Showpro (which also produces large-scale concerts, like Metallica and Justin Bieber) has teamed up with North America’s Disco Donnie Presents (DDP), with “the intention of drawing an increasingly international audience,” according to a press release.

For DDP, the partnership is “an extension of [our] commitment to producing events in Central America,” founder and president Donnie Estopinal told Billboard. “Panama's natural beauty and status as a tourist destination is no secret, and coupled with its metropolitan nightlife and excellent location for international travel, we felt Panama City was a natural fit for a large-scale electronic dance music festival.”

DDP’s parent company SFX - Estopinal was the first EDM promoter to sell to the corporate roll-up, which went public last month—undoubtedly sees the business potential as well.
