Martin Garrix Rides 'Animals' Up Dance Charts

Martin Garrix

Plus, Britney Spears, DJ Fresh, Diplo, Moby and Krewella make moves

Martin Garrix continues his momentum across multiple dance charts, despite a lack of remixes for his breakthrough smash, "Animals."
The song is up 10-8 on Dance/Electronic Songs, 11-7 on Dance/Electronic Digital Songs (19,000 downloads sold, up 21%, according to Nielsen SoundScan) and 40-31 on Dance/Club Play Songs. It holds at No. 10 on Dance Streaming Songs and rebounds 99-93 on the Billboard Hot 100. It debuted at No. 86 on the latter list two weeks ago.

The single version of "Animals," released Sept. 17, serves as the club version (similar to Avicii's "Wake Me Up!") Clocking in at five minutes, it's more than double the length of the originally released edit, from the compilation "Hardwell Presents Revealed, Vol. 4," where it was available as an album-only track.

IT'S 'WORK'-ING: Britney Spears picks up both Streaming and Digital Gainer honors on Dance/Electronic Songs with "Work B**ch!," which advances 6-4.
The pounding ode to hard work flies up Dance Streaming Songs (12-3; 3.8 million U.S. streams, according to Nielsen BDS) following the premiere of its official video (Oct. 1) and gains by 50% to 76,000 downloads sold, bulleting again at No. 4 on Dance/Electronic Digital Songs.
Spears also works her way up Dance/Mix Show Airplay (23-16), is the Hot Shot Debut on Dance/Club Play Songs (No. 26) and resurges on the Hot 100 (41-13).
FRESH MUSIC: DJ Fresh and Diplo return to Dance/Electronic Songs with "Earthquake," featuring Dominique Young Unique. The song bows at No. 31 following its arrival on iTunes (Sept. 30). Originally titled "Motherquake" and available only on the "Kick Ass 2" soundtrack, it debuts at No. 40 on Dance/Electronic Digital Songs (4,000).
Watch for Diplo's "Revolution" EP (not containing this track) to impact sales charts next week.
MOBILE MOBY: On Dance/Electronic Albums, Moby's new effort "Innocents" starts at No. 2 with 6,000 sold. It opens at No. 66 on the Billboard 200.
The set marks Moby's seventh to open in the top three on Dance/Electronic Albums, which launched in 2001 (almost a decade after Moby began charting on Billboard's tallies in 1992).
'NIGHT' LIFE: Krewella's "Live for the Night" becomes the trio's first No. 1 on Dance/Club Play Songs (2-1). Remixes from W&W, Hook N Sling and Deniz Kayou & Danny Avila, among others, have contributed to the cut's club success.
"Night" rises 4-2 on Dance/Mix Show Airplay and gains in crossover support, jumping to a new peak (36-31) on the Pop Songs airplay chart.
