Doctor P and Adam F featuring Method Man, 'The Pit': Song and First Look at Video Teaser
Bass-based electronic music and hip-hop have always been close cousins, never so much as right now. Check out Waka Flocka Flame's love affair with Steve Aoki (they're currently on tour together), Skrillex chilling in the Dominican Republic with A$AP Rocky, and Baauer dropping the bass with Just Blaze.
No disrespect to those talented artists - but Wu Tang is forever. So when bass music buddies Doctor P and Adam F tapped Method Man to rap on “The Pit,” a new single on P's own Circus Records (with fellow bass head Flux Pavilion), it had to be something special - worthy of a fully animated ninja-adventure video, even. Check out an exclusive preview of the full song here:
With a refrain that has Method Man commanding “everybody in the pit,” it’s no surprise that Adam F describes the track as a “Guaranteed mosh every time.” F is no stranger to epic hip-hop collabs: He made his original mark with 1998 drum 'n' bass album "Colours," which led to collaborations with LL Cool J, Redman and De La Soul.
If the intensity of “The Pit” is not enough for you in audio format alone, a high-impact animated video is expected later this month, courtesy of director Mike Tyler, who called the video-making process a “dream come true.”
With remixes expected from Datsik and Brillz, “The Pit” is destined for some major bass face play.
