The EDM banger is featured on the soundtrack for “Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.'
It’s fitting that Seven Lions’ song “Strangers” appears on the soundtrack for “Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.” The movie, which comes to theaters this Wednesday, is the adaptation of a young adult fantasy novel that incorporates elements of classic sci-fi themes into contemporary urban life. Producer/DJ Jeff Montalvo chose the name Seven Lions for himself after reading it in a fantasy novel by Gene Wolf, thus blending sci-fi with the modern life. On the soundtrack, “Strangers” sits beside cuts from Zedd, Bassnectar and and LA Riots remix of an AFI tune, along with songs by Jessie J, Demi Lovato and Arianda Grande. Produced with Hungarian duo Myon & Shane 54 and featuring vocals from Swedish vocalist Tove Lo, “Strangers” is a bright and swift tour-de-EDM-force with a touch of ethereal fantasy that owes a sense of agitation equally to “Scary Monsters, Nice Sprites” and angsty teenage dreams.
Seven Lions is on Krewella’s Get Wet tour this fall, Myon & Shane 54 will be at Electric Zoo in New York City on September 1 and Tove Lo is reportedly in the studio, finishing her debut album.
