Coachella 2012: On Stage, Backstage and Behind the Scenes
Araab Musik

AraabMUZIK is dreaming up his next album.

The hip-hop producer/MPC mastermind initially came onto the scene producing New York hip-hop crew The Diplomats. Since then, he's gone on to collaborate with big names such as Cam'ron, Busta Rhymes, Fabolous, Danny Brown, 50 Cent, Eminem, Jadakiss and A$AP Rocky. Following the release of his 2011 debut album, "Electronic Dream," the Dominican/Guatemalan producer began showcasing his MPC skills during live and improvised performances - a skill that's earned him the nickname, the "MVP of the MPC."

While EDM fans have been digging his live shows, Araab says his followers have not been shy about pressuring him to release his next album. In the midst of wrapping up a busy 2012 touring schedule, AarabMUZIK told Billboard.com that, "It's about that time. If all goes to plan, I'd like to have my next album done by next year."

AraabMUZIK also revealed that he plans to feature some big names in electronic music on his forthcoming album: "I'm going to have Skrillex on my album. I'm gonna put Zeds Dead on there, 12th Planet, and I'll have Diplo as well." As far as who his dream collaboration would be, he says, "Everybody is down already. My dream already came true with everyone that I want to work with. It's a good place to be in, production-wise!"

To tide fans over, AraabMUZIK, whose real name is Abraham Orellana, explained that he'll be releasing a remix album with Ultra Records that should be out by the top of next year.

"I also have a couple of projects that I'm working on in addition to my own album - compilations and remixes. I'm doing a remix for Zedd. I haven't started it yet but I'm gonna be remixing the single to his new album that he just released," he said.

In addition, he plans to sporadically release bonus material on his SoundCloud page to keep his fans anticipating what's coming next.

AraabMUZIK plans to hit the studio following his remaining 2012/early 2013 touring obligations, which include ringing in the New Year on stage at New Zealand's Rhythm & Vines and several Australian shows in early January.

"For right now though, I'm just touring and trying to get a lot of ideas together. When I get closer to releasing it, I'll drop a single or something to let fans know it's from the album," he says.

The MPC mastermind told Billboard that although his initial passion was producing, he's fallen equally in love with DJing.

"They are both equal. I'm an artist now. When I go into the studio now to work on my own material, I'll be in artist mode. I'll be both together."

In addition to making albums and performing live shows, AraabMUZIK says that he sees himself having a future in scoring.

"I've scored commercials but not actual movies yet. That's something that I kind of want to get into… in the future when I have more time, though!"
