Prydz, along with his artists Fehrplay and Jeremy Olander, talk about their upcoming tour and Fehrplay’s new track.

Sometimes princes aren’t born, they’re chosen. Such is the case with Pryda Friends, the elite family of EDM nobility ruled by Swedish superstar Eric Prydz. Jonas von der Fehr (better known as Ferhplay) and Jeremy Olander are two DJs inducted into the royal Prydz lineage, both having been signed to the Pryda Friends label. “These are two of the most exciting emerging artists,” Prydz told Billboard. “[They are] making music that I genuinely believe in and am proud to have as part of the Pryda family.”

Like many a monarch, Prydz himself prefers to limit his own travel and is instead sending these two members of his Pryda Family on a US tour this August with his hearty endorsement behind them. Before the tour kicks off in Los Angeles on August 9, Fehrplay releases the full version of his new track “Monte” on July 29. Check out an exclusive first listen of the complete track here:

While Prydz has a collection of big room anthems to his name, “Monte” is a decidedly deeper affair. “I’ve always had a passion for the more deeper sounds of house music,” Fehrplay says of the track. “And I think ‘Monte’ reflects on that. In the end, I just want to produce what feels right at the time, whether it be deep house or more progressive.”

The breadth of influence reflects the development of the Pryda sound that Prydz himself has spearheaded through his Black Dice residency at Surrender Las Vegas and a series of his own releases. The Pryda family is establishing themselves as progressive but also experimental, and solidly dance floor-oriented. It’s a sound Fehrplay and Olander will be showcasing on their tour, a prospect both are excited about.

“I know that the Pryda brand is a big inspiration to many,” says Olander, who himself is preparing to release a track of his own, titled "Petroleum," in late August. “I hope that we can show that bedroom producers like ourselves can emerge and start working with your idols, if you keep at it.”

“It’s really been a dream of mine [to tour] for a long time and now I'm about to do it,” Olander continues. “I also hope we can inspire and show people that there are a lot more sides to dance music other than the more accessible music.”

“There’s a lot to be excited about,” Fehrplay agrees. “But I'm definitely looking forward to playing alongside Jeremy. He's a fantastic DJ and I think that together we can deliver something fresh and exciting.”

“That’s what this Pryda Tour is all about,” adds Prydz “Giving audiences the chance to see what these guys are capable of, and showcasing the Pryda sound with some really special and unique back-to-back sets that you won’t see anywhere else.”
