Heart Returns To Adult Contemporary Chart

'CAR' RIDE: Veteran rock act Heart makes its first appearance on Billboard's Adult Contemporary radio airplay chart in more than 16 years, as "Hey You" debuts at No. 30.

The song introduces the group's first studio album in six years, "Red Velvet Car," released yesterday.

"The heat at radio reminds me of the old days," Heart's Nancy Wilson recently told Billboard. "It's good to see stations adding ('Hey You') and people requesting a simple love song I've had in my back pocket for quite awhile."

Heart had last graced the Adult Contemporary survey with the No. 24-peaking "The Woman in Me" (originally a No. 33 Billboard Hot 100 hit for Donna Summer in 1983) the week of Aug. 6, 1994. The band charted the first of its 11 Adult Contemporary entries with "Dreamboat Annie," which peaked at No. 17 in 1977. The act has enjoyed one No. 1 on Adult Contemporary, "These Dreams," which reigned for three weeks in 1986.

"Hey You" marks Heart's first appearance on any Billboard airplay chart since "Oldest Story in the World" reached No. 22 on Heritage Rock in July 2004.

SWEET 'NIGHTMARE': Four weeks after securing its first Billboard 200 No. 1 album with "Nightmare," Avenged Sevenfold collects its second leading song on Active Rock, where the set's title cut ascends 2-1 as the ranking's Greatest Gainer.

The band had previously topped the Active Rock airplay list with the first of its seven chart entrants, "Bat Country," which spent three weeks at No. 1 in February 2006.

"Nightmare" concurrently rises 4-3 with Greatest Gainer honors on Rock Songs, surges 16-7 on Heritage Rock and bullets at No. 13 on Alternative Songs.

As he returns to No. 1 on Latin Songs for a 13th week with "Cuando Me Enamoro," Enrique Iglesias collects his 28th top 10 - among 30 chart visits - as "I Like It" bounds 12-8. With the jump, Iglesias ties Chayanne for third-most top 10s in the chart's 24-year history.

Here is an updated look at the artists with the most top 10 tracks on Latin Songs. Iglesias holds the mark for most No. 1 titles, with "Cuando Me Enamoro" representing his record-extending 21st topper.
