Rachel Platten's 'Stand by You' Tops Adult Pop Songs Chart
The anthem of unconditional support is her second leader on the airplay list, following "Fight Song."
Rachel Platten scores her second No. 1 on Billboard's Adult Pop Songs radio airplay chart (dated Feb. 20), as "Stand by You" rises 3-1. The track is her second leader on the ranking; "Fight Song" ruled for four weeks beginning in August.
Both songs are from Platten's album Wildfire, which debuted on the Billboard 200 (dated Jan. 23) at No. 5. "Fight Song" previously appeared on Platten's Fight Song EP, which reached No. 20 on the chart in August.
Before her two leaders, Platten tallied one earlier Adult Pop Songs hit: "1,000 Ships" sailed to No. 23 in early 2012. "I've been trying to do this for a long time, and I got rejected a lot," the pop singer/songwriter told Billboard last year. "I had some successes, as well, but it didn't really feel like I had a chance anymore. [But], if nobody else believes in you, you have to believe in yourself.' "
All charts will update tomorrow (Feb. 9) on Billboard.com.
