New York-based reader Alfie Magliano e-mailed a link to his piano interpretation of the survey's top 40 hits for the chart week ending Sept. 3. "I played the entire top 40 on piano, in order (from No. 1 to No. 40), from memory," Magliano writes. "The arrangements are my own."

Enjoy this unique journey through the chart's top 40 titles.

With all due respect to the likes of Ryan Seacrest, Rick Dees and Casey Kasem, it's hard to imagine a countdown ever presented so creatively (and ably).

A chart-worthy performance itself, Alfie!
