Jagger joins such icons as the Beatles and Elvis Presley who've charted a Billboard Hot 100 hit while simultaneously being feted in another.
NOT SO IDLE: The group of 2011 "American Idol" finalists to graduate to Billboard surveys expands to seven, as James Durbin, Haley Reinhart and Casey Abrams all make their chart debuts.
Durbin, who placed fourth this season, begins on the Billboard 200 at No. 36 and Rock Albums at No. 8 with "Memories of a Beautiful Disaster." Reinhart and Casey Abrams, who finished third and sixth, respectively, enter Holiday Digital Songs at No. 3 with "Baby, It's Cold Outside."
The trio follows reigning "Idol" champion Scotty McCreery, whose "Clear as Day" stormed the Billboard 200 at No. 1 the week of Oct. 22, and runner-up Lauren Alaina, whose "Wildflower" bloomed at No. 5 a week later.
As a member of the Grand Magnolias, eighth-place finalist Paul McDonald peaked at No. 3 on Heatseekers Albums in April with the group's self-titled set, while ninth-place balladeer Pia Toscano reached No. 16 on Heatseekers Songs in July with "This Time."
This year's crop of charted "Idol" singers bests last year's, as three 2010 contestants have gone on to draw Billboard chart ink: winner Lee DeWyze; runner-up Crystal Bowersox; and, third-place finalist Casey James, whose "Let's Don't Call it a Night" returns to its No. 37 peak to-date this week on Country Songs.
Two recent winners from fellow TV reality contests also make chart entrances this week.
Javier Colon, the champion of NBC's inaugural season of "The Voice," bows on R&B/Hip-Hop Albums with "Come Through for You." Colon charted five songs on the Hot 100 between May and June, rising as high as No. 17 with "Stitch By Stitch." (His Hot 100 history dates to 2003, when, billed as Javier, he peaked at No. 95 with "Crazy").
And, just days after winning NBC's "The Sing-Off," Arlington, Texas quintet Pentatonix arrives at No. 22 on Heatseekers Songs with its take on Florenece + the Machine's "Dog Days Are Over."
The vocal group formed just a day before the show's auditions after childhood friends Mitch Grassi, Scott Hoying and Kirstin Maldonado discovered Avi Kaplan and Kevin Olusola on YouTube.
"Winning is just a dream come true for all of us," says Kaplan. "I just feel so blessed to have the opportunity to sing with them, hopefully for the rest of my life."
