What do Anna Kendrick and Barbra Streisand have in common?

They are the only two people that have earned a top 10 single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and Academy Award and Tony Award nominations in acting categories.

Kendrick was nominated for the 2009 Academy Award for actress in a supporting role ("Up in the Air") and a 1998 Tony Award for featured actress in a musical ("High Society"). Kendrick reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 last week with "Cups," from her film "Pitch Perfect." It is her first charting single, and holds at No. 10 this week.

Streisand won the 1968 best actress Academy Award for "Funny Girl" and was nominated for best actress in 1974 for "The Way We Were." She was nominated for two Tony Awards: featured actress in a musical ("I Can Get It For You Wholesale," 1962) and actress in a musical ("Funny Girl," 1964).

Streisand has claimed 12 top 10 singles on the almost-55-year-old Hot 100 chart, including five No. 1 singles. Her most recent top 10 single was "I Finally Found Someone," from "The Mirror Has Two Faces," with Bryan Adams.

Of note: Diana Ross and Bette Midler -- who both have multiple top 10 singles -- have both been nominated for Academy Awards for acting, and have also received special Tony Awards. However, neither were nominated for a Tony in an acting category. Ross received a Special Award in 1977, and Midler was given a 1974 Special Award "for adding lustre to the Broadway season."

Some other notable performers that were nominated for an acting Oscars, who also have top 10 hit singles on the Billboard Hot 100 (but don't have a Tony nom in an acting category): Cher, Bobby Darin, Patty Duke, Jamie Foxx, Richard Harris, Burl Ives, Shirley Jones (if you count her vocals on recordings credited to the Partridge Family), Peggy Lee, Eddie Murphy, Frank Sinatra, Will Smith, John Travolta and Mark Wahlberg (under his former stage name Marky Mark).

Another fun find: Stockard Channing has been nominated for seven Tony Awards in acting categories (winning one award), and been nominated for an Academy Award for best actress in a leading role for "Six Degrees of Separation." While she does not have a top 10 Hot 100 single under her own name, she is clearly heard on the top 10 song "Summer Nights," from the "Grease" soundtrack. The single reached No. 5 in 1978, though it is credited solely to the film's co-stars John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John.
