Universal Music Publishing Group Names New Head of West Coast A&R

Jody Gerson, UMPG Chairman and CEO; Joe Jonas; David Gray, UMPG SVP Creative Affairs; and Phil McIntyre, CEO and Founder of Philymack.

David Gray is promoted to executive vice president.

Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) executive David Gray has been named EVP and head of west coast A&R, it was announced on Thursday (July 21). He was previously SVP, Creative Affairs.

Gray, whose signings include Shawn Mendes, Nick Jonas, Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas/DNCE, will report to UMPG Chairman and CEO Jody Gerson and Evan Lamberg, President, North America and be based out of Los Angeles.

Joe Jonas Signs With Universal Music Publishing Group

Bringing a wealth of experience from multiple intersecting sectors of the entertainment industry, Gray's background includes stints at publisher Zomba as well as Syco Music, where he developed acts from such TV shows as X Factor and America's Got Talent. He is also a former songwriter signed to UMPG.
