In an interview with Billboard, Island Records CEO and president David Massey explained that his relationship with McIntyre goes back 10 years and that he's been impressed with McIntyre's "career objectives and work ethic." Ultimately, when talk of a label began about a year ago, Massey added, "I really liked the culture he wanted to create: a small label that's highly focused and very artist-driven as opposed to something that would have to be able to grow exponentially."

Jonas is currently signed to Island where his self-titled debut has yielded two hit singles, "Jealous" and "Chains."

Disney Music Group's current Hollywood Records roster features acts in a variety of genres, including Grace Potter, Bea MillerSabrina CarpenterR5 and Breaking Benjamin.
