PRS for Music Foundation & Deezer Tap Artists for Momentum Funding

PRS for Music Foundation, Arts Council England and Deezer have announced the latest round of artists to receive Momentum Music funding. The ten acts include Adult Jazz, Arrows of Love, Jessica Agombar, Lonelady, Matt Woods, MONEY, Night Works, Then Thickens, Tropics and We Were Evergreen. Each will receive between £5,000-£15,000 ($7,500-$22,500US) from the National Lottery through Arts Council England, with the money going towards touring, marketing and recording fees.

"It's great to see that the first artists receiving Momentum funding in 2015 are again of such a high caliber following another competitive round," said Vanessa Reed, head of PRS for Music Foundation. "We're looking forward to tracking the results of this pioneering fund over the next year and to building on our unique partnership with Arts Council England and Deezer."

Manchester-based musician Lonelady (born Julie Ann Campbell) remarked, "This award will be of invaluable help to enable me to keep evolving as an artist."

In addition to the Momentum Music funding, all of the artists are eligible to win an additional £2,500 throughout the Momentum Deezer Award. To prize goes to the artist with the most streams through the Momentum Deezer app.

The next deadline for applications to the Momentum Music fund is Tuesday, Feb. 10 via the PRS for Music Foundation website.
