The Killers singer is teaming up with Grammy-winning producer Ariel Rechtshaid for his second solo effort.

Two years after the Killers' Battle Born and four years after his solo debut Flamingo, Brandon Flowers is hitting the studio to work on his second solo effort, slated for a 2015 release.

Flowers shared details of his as-yet-unnamed new record, revealing that Vampire Weekend/Haim/Justin Bieber producer Ariel Rechtshaid is working with him on the new album -- and that their collaboration got off to a rocky start.

The Killers, 'Battle Born': Track-By-Track Review

"He's taking me out of my comfort zone," Flowers told NME. "Normally I make demos and they're pretty similar to how the song ends up, but he'll take a song and be like, 'I hear this'. It's incredible… his palette and his range, what he's able to say. At first we were butting our heads together, but now we're hitting it off."

Both in its massive sound and lyrical content, Flowers' Flamingo frequently touched upon his hometown, Las Vegas. But the Killers frontman says Sin City has less to do with this album: "People are going to interpret it how they will, but there's only a little bit of Vegas in there."
