From Pearl Jam to Christina Bianco: 5 Best 'Frozen' Covers (So Far)
The "Frozen" hot streak isn’t slowing down any time soon -- at least, not if Disney has anything to say about it.
Over the weekend, Disney Channel premiered a "Frozen weekend" and debuted a music video for the latest iteration of Disney Channel's Circle of Stars (a group of current Disney Channel stars that occasionally get together and sing pop versions of songs from Disney animated films). Since Disney already has a pop version of “Let It Go” (Thank you, Demi Lovato), Disney set up its stars with “Do You Want To Build A Snowman.”
Will that be the next song to take off with hundreds of YouTube covers? Only time will tell. For now, check out some of our favorite covers from the film below. We make no promises about these versions not getting stuck in your head immediately.
5) Pearl Jam
Just a few weeks ago, fans learned that even father-of-two Eddie Vedder can't get away from the ubiquitous film.
4) Idina Menzel & The Roots
Yes, she sang the original as well, but of all of Menzel’s live performances of the song, this version -- complete with The Roots and classroom instruments -- was the most spirited and fun.
3) Sam Tsui
Surprise! "Let It Go" isn’t just a great song on it's own. Thanks to this mash-up with Passenger's "Let Her Go," fans can see how great the melodies blend with others. This is what YouTube was created for.
2) Christina Bianco
Sure, fans probably won't get "Let It Go" covers from Britney Spears and Kristin Chenoweth. But thanks to New York stage performer Bianco, we can imagine what it might sound like for Spears to croon in her sexy-baby voice, "The cold never bothered me anyway."
"The Sing-Off"and a cappella faves Pentatonix were joined by some of their friends to perform a goofy medley of many "Frozen" hits. For those that think "Love Is An Open Door" doesn't get enough, well, love, this is the mix for you.
