FKA twigs has shared the first studio cut from her forthcoming debut album "LP1" (due Aug. 12 via Young Turks) – a billowing R&B song called "Two Weeks." Given twigs' history of scintillating visuals, the music video does not disappoint.
The Nabil-directed clip is essentially one prolonged pan-out shot, as the camera reveals twigs portrayed as some sort of ruler/goddess, capped in what looks like a regal seaweed crown. It starts as a closeup of her face, but eventually reveals a troop of surrounding dancers inside an ancient temple.
More FKA twigs:
"Two Weeks" is a convincing statement following the singer's pair of acclaimed introductory EPs. It's a continuation of her early material, albeit more beat-driven, especially towards the final moments.
The new video has propelled FKA twigs to success on Billboard's Real-Time Charts. From this morning (June 24), it has appeared in the Top 5 of the Trending 140 and Emerging Artists tallies, at times leading both.
Previously, twigs was featured in Billboard's list of new artists to watch in 2014.
