Title: "Broke With Expensive Taste" | Release Date: February 12, 2013
Azealia Banks could have easily had one of last year's most hotly anticipated debuts. Instead, "Broke With Expensive Taste," originally slated for a Fall 2012 release, was pushed back to February 12. Still, she's riding a mighty wave of anticipation off last year's sizzling, house-heavy "1991" EP and mermaid-themed "Fantasea" mixture. She's already rapped on the same track as Missy Elliott (a remix of M.I.A.'s "Bad Girls") and has garnered plenty of Nicki Minaj comparisons (they both went to New York's LaGuardia High School of Music and Art and Performing Arts) but at this point, it's anyone's guess if she even wants to be a traditional rapper or continue venturing off on her own creative wavelength. But one thing's for sure: when "Expensive Taste" finally drops, the music world will be listening.
