Soundsystem Selection 2004 - Various...

AMG Review

The British come up with these great compilations all the time, mixing new hits with great old ones. Don't think you're going to learn much about dancehall or get an all-inclusive collection, but if you want something to throw in the jeep on a sunny day, Soundsystem Selection 2004 will do just fine. Up-to-the-minute hits like Sean Paul's "Like Glue" and Elephant Man's "All Out" sit nicely with the just-fell-off-the-charts tracks like Mr. Vegas' "Heads High" and Wayne Wonder's "No Letting Go." There are some fantastic old tunes -- Yellowman's "Yellowman Getting Married" and Clint Eastwood's "Another One Bites the Dust" being especially necessary -- and including that old Shaggy tune that won't go away -- the rowdy "Kibble & Bits" -- makes the collection extra desirable. ~ David Jeffries, All Music Guide
