New Affair - The Emotions

AMG Review

This was the Emotions' final album for Maurice White's ARC label, and it wasn't among their more memorable outings. Their collective arrangements and harmonies were still solid, but the passion and energy that had marked their best singles was missing, while the production was routine and the arrangements lifeless and uninspired. They got a couple of moderate R&B chart hits out of it, but weren't the sparkling, vibrant ensemble they had been in the mid-'70s. ~ Ron Wynn, All Music Guide
