Mis Romances - Luis Miguel

(2001)
AMG Review

Luis Miguel found his musical maturity while making his successful bolero revival albums: Romance, released in 1991; Segundo Romance, released in 1994; and Romances, released in 1997. After a Latin pop decade, this talented Mexican artist turned to romantic ballads, keeping his deserved status of a top-selling singer while becoming involved in the Latin adult contemporary scene. Mis Romances delivers a new version of the classic "Perfidia," previously recorded by Glenn Miller, Nat King Cole, and Perez Prado, among other prominent artists. He also covers Carlos Gardel's "Volver" and "Tu Me Acostumbraste," remembering one of Chilean Lucho Gatica's favorites. Mis Romances comprised 11 narrative poems of love. ~ Drago Bonacich, All Music Guide
