Old Flame - Juice Newton

AMG Review

Out of all of Juice Newton's albums, Old Flame has the strongest country roots and influences. Newton is still equally informed by rock and pop -- after all, she doesn't sing hardcore honky tonk on the album, she sings somewhat roots country pop . However, Old Flame proves that she can perform this material with conviction. Most of the production on the record is too slick and indicative of its time, but the singles -- as well as Newton's singing -- remain effective. ~ Thom Owens, All Music Guide
