Byron Cage - Byron Cage

AMG Review

Stellar Award nominee Byron Cage released his first solo album in February 2003. Recorded live at the New Birth Cathedral in Atlanta, GA, the self-titled project was produced by labelmate Kurt Carr and features the writing talents of Cage, Carr, and Donnie McClurkin. The gospel album is high in energy and blends the styles of R&B, pop, and traditional gospel. Songs include "It Is to You," "There Is a Name," and "What You Are." With this project, Cage hopes "...that the Lord take[s] this music to the masses. I don't like to think of myself and these songs as being in a box, for only one culture of people. I know that when we get to heaven there [aren't] going to be separate sections for Asians, Latinos, Caucasians, and African-Americans." ~ Ashleigh Kittle Slater, All Music Guide
