Wilco revisits the unpredictable leanings of "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot" and "A Ghost Is Born" on its latest project, "Wilco (The Album)," due June 30 from Nonesuch. The 11-track set was produced by the band with Jim Scott, who mixed 2007's "Sky Blue Sky."
As first tipped here in August 2007, Wilco will release its first concert DVD, "Ashes of American Flags," chronicling February 2008 visits to Nashville's Ryman Auditorium and Tulsa, Okla.'s Cain Ballroom.
Wilco will begin recording its next album in October, Billboard has learned. The follow-up to 2007's "Sky Blue Sky" is expected for a spring release via Nonesuch.
Wilco hopes to have its seventh studio album out by spring 2009, frontman Jeff Tweedy told Albany, N.Y., radio station WAMC recently. The group has recently been playing two new songs live, "One Wing" and "Sunny Feeling."
Two very different rock acts headlined at the same time on opposite ends of Chicago's Grant Park last night (Aug. 2), closing the second day of Lollapalooza. Wilco and Rage Against The Machine helped draw the second sell-out crowd in a row to the event, a feat which had never happened in the previous three years.
