New albums from Mya and Jane's Addiction and the latest volume in the "NOW That's What I Call Music!" series weren't able to dislodge the "Bad Boys II" soundtrack from the top spot on The Billboard 200. The Bad Boy/Universal album, which features at least three songs being played at radio, sold 197,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan, and holds onto No. 1 for a second-straight week.
Rock-rap act 311 has slated a July 11 for its seventh studio album, "Evolver." The group reteamed with producer Ron Saint Germain (Bad Brains, Sonic Youth) for the Volcano Records set. He last worked with the band on its self-titled third album, released in 1995 via Capricorn Records
Funk/pop quintet 311 and modern rock act Hoobastank have just kicked off the international leg of a lengthy tour, the U.S. portion of which is now confirmed. The stateside trek will begin Feb. 28 in San Francisco and conclude April 6 in St. Louis. Incubus is also on the bill for the international dates but will not be a part of the U.S. portion of the tour.
Modern rock quintet 311 is readying a pair of home videos for Dec. 11 release on Volcano. The group's 1996 VHS release "Enlarged to Show Detail" is getting an upgrade to DVD, and its sequel, "Enlarged to Show Detail 2" will see release the same day in both VHS and DVD formats.
