Singer Nelly Furtado leads the pack with six nominations for the 2001 Juno Awards, which honor the best in Canadian music. Furtado earned nods for best new solo artist, best pop album ("Whoa, Nelly"), and best single "(I'm Like A Bird"), among others. Barenaked Ladies are close behind with five nominations, including best single ("Pinch Me") and best album ("Maroon").
