The year-long series of celebrations honoring Jamaica’s 50th anniversary of independence wound down with the largest Jamaican music event in New York of 2012, the first reggae concert at Brooklyn’s new Barclays Center. The BioLife Sounds of Reggae concert featured lovers rock crooner Maxi Priest, dancehall superstar Shaggy, Ali Campbell’s UB40 and one of Jamaica’s finest practicing singer/songwriters Beres Hammond presented by Jammins Ent.
SellaBand, the Amsterdam-based online label for unsigned acts which launched last August, is taking part in its first live event during Concert At Sea (CAS), a 60,000-capacity Dutch rock festival on June 30.
