With just a week left until the second season of “X Factor” wraps, Epic Records chairman/CEO Antonio “L.A.” Reid has chosen to focus on his day job rather than do A&R from a seat on a television show. He made season one of “X Factor” look like a factory line for Epic, signing three runners-up and agreeing to distribute the album from the season one winner, Melanie Amaro. Of the artists Epic signed from the show's first season, only the rapper Chris Rene has seen any significant results.
