With their first studio title in nearly 30 years, the Eagles land atop The Billboard 200 with "Long Road Out of Eden," which sold 711,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The Eagles Recording Co. album, available exclusively in the U.S. through Wal-Mart, Sam's Club and the band's Web site, scores the year's second-best first-week total, behind Kanye West's "Graduation" (960,000).
"Long Road out of Eden," the Eagles' first full-length studio album since 1979's "The Long Run," debuts at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 and Top Country Albums with a whopping 711,000 -- the second-largest sales week of the year. "Eden" was sold exclusively through Wal-Mart, its Web site, Sam's Club and the Eagles' official Web site ... Britney Spears' "Blackout" settles for the runner-up slot with a still-handsome 290,000 ... The Billboard 200's top 10 also welcomes bows from Avenged Sevenfold, Josh Turner, Backstreet Boys and Andrea Bocelli ... Revamped and reissued editions of Flyleaf and Jonas Brothers' respective albums yield big jumps ... And Christmas is very much in the air on the charts, now that Halloween has passed, as a number of holiday efforts post handsome gains.
