International pop star Kylie Minogue will see her latest album, "Fever," released in Feb. 26 in the U.S. via Capitol Records. The set boasts the same 12 song track list as the European version of the album (Australian and Japanese pressings featured additional tracks), which was released last October and has since sold more than 2 million copies, according to the label.
A marathon concert featuring R.E.M., Pearl Jam, Alanis Morissette, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, and Mana last night (Oct. 22) capped off the Groundwork 2001 concert series in Seattle. Proceeds from the week-long event -- estimated at $1 million by organizers -- will be used by the United States Committee for Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) to contribute to the global TeleFood fund, which channels money directly to small-scale food-producing projects around the world.
Kylie Minogue now has command of the U.K. album chart as well as the singles survey. Parlophone's Australian pop figurehead (who won two titles last week at her native country's ARIA Awards) started a third week at No. 1 on the singles chart yesterday (Oct. 7) with "Can't Get You Out of My Head" and doubled her fun by debuting at the top with the album "Fever." It comes in an extremely active week for the album chart, in which seven of the top-10 titles were new entries.
