French DJ Martin Solveig says that being Madonna's latest musical boy toy has given him some welcome education and seasoning. "It's given me a bit more maturity and experience in the process of collaboration with an artist of that level," Solveig, who produced six tracks on Madonna's 2012 release "MDNA" -- including "Beautiful Killer" and "Give Me All Your Luvin' " with Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. -- tells Billboard.
California punk group the Offspring is back on the charts with its new single, "Days Go By," which rises 14-12 this week on Billboard's Alternative chart. The song is the title track and lead single for the band's ninth studio album (and sixth with Columbia) and its first in four years. It arrives June 26.
Around the time Brett Gurewitz was launching Epitaph Records in 1981, his father was lecturing him to take guitar lessons. The Bad Religion guitarist and punk-rock entrepreneur never sat down for courses with a guitar instructor, although he did go to school to learn to be a recording engineer. However, no amount of schooling could have prepared Gurewitz for the next 25 years of his life.
