The solo debut from Destiny's Child singer Beyonce Knowles leads three albums into the top-10 of The Billboard 200. Knowles' "Dangerously in Love" (Music World/Columbia) may have fallen well short of the first-week numbers of the last Destiny's Child set, but it still manages to sell an impressive 317,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Virgin Records has set a June 24 release date for "The Ownerz," a new studio album by veteran rap duo Gang Starr. The disc will be the first new full-length from producer/turntablist DJ Premier and rapper Guru since 1998's "Moment of Truth."
Common has lined-up a 20-city, 21-date winter tour, launching Feb. 26 in Washington, D.C., and wrapping March 23 in Denver. The rapper will bring along some like-minded artists from the neo-soul and hip-hop movements: Talib Kweli, Gang Starr, and Floetry.
