After a year tinged with tragedy, hardcore corrido singer Gerardo Ortiz took home six honors at the inaugural Billboard Mexican Music Awards, held Thursday night at the Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles. Other multiple winners at the ceremony, which will be broadcast on Telemundo Oct. 27, include Larry Hernández, Vicente Fernández, Julión Alvarez y su Norteño Banda, and Los Bukis.
